Safety Management System

A documented framework that makes safe operation the default.

We design and implement a structured safety management system that connects policy, hazard identification, operating controls and assurance into one accountable framework, aligned to recognised standards such as ISO 45001 and the OSHA PSM elements. HIRA & JSA

Hazard identification and risk assessment, down to the task step.

Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) systematically identifies hazards across activities, areas, and equipment, then rates each risk on likelihood and severity to set priorities and define controls following the hierarchy of elimination, substitution, engineering controls, administrative controls, and PPE. Job Safety Analysis (JSA) takes this to the task level, breaking each job into steps, attaching the hazards and controls to every step, and capturing residual risk. Together they give supervisors and workers a repeatable, auditable basis for safe work and for permit and method-statement decisions.

PHA - HAZOP / LOPA / Bow-Tie / SIL

Structured hazard identification and layered risk analysis.

We facilitate process hazard analysis using HAZOP to systematically examine process deviations node by node with guidewords, LOPA to test whether independent protection layers reduce risk to a tolerable target, and Bow-Tie analysis to map threats, consequences and the preventive and mitigative barriers between them. Where instrumented protection is credited, we determine the required SIL and verify each safety instrumented function against IEC 61511 and IEC 61508. Studies are led by an independent facilitator with a dedicated scribe, and findings are tracked to closure.

QRA & dispersion modelling (F&G mapping)

Quantify risk from release, fire and explosion scenarios.

Quantitative risk assessment models credible loss-of-containment scenarios to estimate consequence and frequency, expressing site risk as individual and societal measures against accepted criteria. Consequence modelling covers toxic and flammable gas dispersion, jet and pool fires, and vapour cloud explosion overpressure, informing facility siting and layout. The same dispersion outputs drive fire and gas detector mapping, optimising detector type, placement and voting logic so leaks and fires are caught with the required coverage and confidence.

Hazard Area Classification

Define explosive-atmosphere zones for compliant equipment selection.

We classify areas where flammable gases, vapours or combustible dusts may create explosive atmospheres, assigning gas zones to IEC 60079-10-1 and dust zones to IEC 60079-10-2 based on release sources, ventilation and material properties. The output is a marked-up zone drawing and schedule that drives selection of correctly rated Ex equipment and ignition controls. This keeps electrical and mechanical equipment matched to the actual hazard and supports inspection and audit requirements.

Contractor Safety Management

Govern contractor HSE risk across pre-qualification to demobilisation.

Contractors often carry a disproportionate share of high-hazard work, so we build a contractor safety management framework spanning pre-qualification, risk-based selection, induction, permit-to-work integration, on-site supervision and performance evaluation. The system aligns contractor controls with your own permit, JSA and PTW standards and defines clear accountability between principal employer and contractor, closing the gap where serious incidents commonly occur.
